Dear Partners,

Please be advised of a potential battery deep-discharge risk that may occur with all KILEWS cordless screwdrivers equipped with a start lever if the start lever remains pressed while the cordless screwdriver is not in use.

We recently encountered such a case involving an SKC-PTA-BS12 cordless screwdriver, in which the SKC-LB0730 battery could no longer be recharged.

Our investigation found that the start lever had been unintentionally pressed while the screwdriver was set down and the FWD/REV switch was in the neutral position.

When the start lever remains pressed, the internal circuit may continue to draw power even though the FWD/REV switch is in the neutral position and the screwdriver is not rotating. If left in this condition for an extended period, the battery may become deeply discharged and may no longer be rechargeable.

In this case, one of the individual cells in the battery pack had dropped below 2V, which may cause irreversible battery damage.

Although this particular case involved the SKC-PTA-BS12, the following precautions apply to all KILEWS cordless screwdriver models equipped with a start lever.

To help prevent this issue:

If the screwdriver will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery and reinstall it before use.

Always store the screwdriver in a suitable holder that does not press against the start lever, as shown in the photo below.

Following these precautions can effectively reduce the risk of deep discharge and permanent battery damage.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation.
